Okemo Series Freeride Event Feb. 26

LUDLOW, Vermont — On Sunday, Feb. 26, Okemo Mountain Resort will host the Okemo Series Freeride Event. This slopestyle competition is slated to take place in Okemo's premier Dew Zone Terrain Park. Registration will start at 8 a.m. in the Mezzanine of the Okemo base lodge. and the event is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. The entry fee is $20 and a lift ticket or season pass is required to participate. Prizes will be awarded immediately following the competition.
Open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages, this friendly competition will feature a number of jumps and terrain park elements including Okemo's new Staircase Feature offering snow sliders three options with a 10-foot flat to 20-foot down. The new 20-foot wide Staircase offers a 15-degree pitch and three features that include a single-barrel down rail straight down the middle and boxes on either side – one with ledges.
Some other elements being introduced this year at Okemo are a U-box, a 20-foot long butterbox, a 30-foot flat-to-down and a new C-box.
