CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine -- Maine-based children's singer Rick Charette has been entertaining children around the country for years with his unique and catchy songs, and this February he will bring his wildly popular act to Sugarloaf during February Vacation week.

Charette will appear at Sugarloaf on February 13 as part of the resort's Family Entertainment Series, which brings family oriented performers to the mountain throughout the winter season.

A life-long resident of Maine, Charette has been capturing the minds and hearts of children and adults alike with his delightful and inspiring songs. His performances blend original contemporary pop music and lyrics with imaginative activities that generate tremendous participation from audience members. Charette's songs include classics such as "Alligator in the Elevator," "I Love Mud," and "Where Do My Sneakers Go At Night?" which have become life-long favorites for thousands of families.

Charette is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine and holds degrees in Music Education and English. Elementary teachers across the country use his music in their classrooms to enhance and facilitate their language arts programs. He has been a featured speaker at the Northeast Whole Language Conference, and a keynote speaker at the National Association For The Education of Young Children Conference in Washingtion DC, as well as other educational conferences around the United States. He travels throughout the US and Canada performing at schools and concert halls, and released his tenth and latest album, "King Kong Chair" in 2004.
