CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine -- Sugarloaf will welcome four of the nation's top touring musical acts this winter, with Little Feat, Rusted Root, Grace Potter and The Nocturnals, and the Rustic Overtones set to headline four different concerts during the 2009-2010 winter season. The shows are part of the annual Bud Light Concert Series, which brings nationally renowned acts to Sugarloaf's main stage throughout the winter season, and will feature four dates this winter, in addition to the annual Bud Light Reggae Festival in April.

Little Feat will kick off this year's Bud Light Concert Series at Sugarloaf on Saturday, January 16. Rusted Root will take the stage on Saturday, February 6, Grace Potter will perform on March 13, and Rustic Overtones will headline the show on Saturday, March 27.

With one of the longest and most successful histories of any rock band, Little Feat has become an icon in the music industry. Drawing on influences from Jimmy Buffett to Dave Matthews to Emmylou Harris and Bob Seger, the band describes its music as California rock, funk, folk, jazz, country, rockabilly and New Orleans swamp boogie "stirred into a rich gumbo."

Little Feat got its start in 1969 and, except for a seven year hiatus from 1979-1986, has been touring non-stop ever since. The Band has shared the stage with many of the biggest names in music, and has enjoyed enormous commercial success with hits like Willin', Dixie Chicken, Feats Don't Fail Me Now, and Fat Man in the Bath Tub.

Rusted Root was formed in Pittsburgh by singer/guitarist Michael Glabicki in the early 90's and rose to world wide fame with the platinum selling album When I Woke, which featured the mega-hit song Send Me On My Way. The band has sold more the 3 million albums worldwide and has emerged as one of the industry's top touring bands, having shared the stage with the likes of Toad the Wet Sprocket, Santana, the Grateful Dead, the Dave Matthews Band, The Allman Brothers Band, and Jimmy Page and Robert Plant.

Rusted Root's music has been featured in numerous compilation albums and several soundtracks, including "Matilda," "Ice Age," "Twister," "Homicide," and "Party of Five." Send Me On My Way was also chosen by NASA engineers as wake-up music for the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity.

The driving hard-rock sound of Grace Potter and The Nocturnals has recently gained national attention with their newest album, This is Somewhere. Leading the charge is 26-year-old Grace Potter whose dynamic vocal delivery and unique style behind the Hammond B-3 and piano has not only earned the band stage space with Gov't Mule and moe at the 2009 Bonnaroo Music Festival, but has launched them into the national spotlight. The band has recently toured with acts such as Taj Mahal, Trey Anastasio, Dave Matthews Band, The Black Crowes, The Derek Trucks Band, Gov't Mule, and blues legend Robert Cray.

The Portland-based Rustic Overtones have been jamming since the early nineties and have the distinguished honor of being the first group to perform live on XM Satellite Radio. In the group's earliest days, they were mostly classified as a ska and soul band, but their sound has since become much more refined and diversified. Reunited in 2007 after a five-year hiatus, this hard-hitting, show-stopping, horn-powered rock band's new music reflects their newfound independence.

Tickets are on sale now for Little Feat, Grace Potter, and the Rustic Overtones. Tickets for Rusted Root will go on sale Monday, Dec 20. All Bud Light Concert Series shows are 21-plus and proper identification is required at the door. To purchase tickets call 1-800-THE-LOAF.
