Independence Weekend Celebration Adds Sparkle to Waterville Valley Getaway

WATERVILLE VALLEY, New Hampshire -- The hometown 4th of July parade, Independence Day Festival, evening outdoor concert and fireworks add sparkle and tradition to an action packed getaway to Waterville Valley, New Hampshire. The resort's Summer Unlimited "Independence Weekend " special offers two nights lodging, daily recreation including 9-holes of golf, mountain biking, tennis, ice skating, use of the indoor athletic center, boating on Corcoran's Pond, 4th of July flags, glow necklaces, and all 4th of July activities. Starting at $46 per person, per night, quad occupancy, guests get all this with their room key at the Golden Eagle Lodge, Town Square Condominiums, Snowy Owl Inn, Black Bear Lodge, the Valley Inn and Village Condominium.

Independence Weekend Events

Fri., July 3

Sugar Coated Shakespeare at 10:00 am

2 person teams of professional actors perform songs, monologues, scenes and poems from classical literature and Shakespeare interwoven in a tapestry of fun

Hometown 4th of July Parade at 4:00 pm - The Waterville Valley community gathers for a traditional parade presented by the Town Recreation Department.

Shakespeare in the Valley Performance 6:00-7:30 pm

Sat., July 4

Sugar Coated Shakespeare at 10:00 am

Independence Day Festival presented by the Town Recreation Department from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm. Games, crafts, obstacle course, Fireman's BBQ, live music, Dunk Tank, Rey Center Curious George Chalk Talks, Shakespeare in the Valley performance and more. $10 per child includes all activities.

Outdoor Concert at Town Square 6:30-9:30 pm

Spectacular fireworks display over Corcoran's Pond at 9:30 pm

Sun., July 5

New Hampshire Wildlife Show
At 10:30 am, outdoors in Town Square. The Squam Lakes Natural Science Center brings various animals each week on Sundays to discuss and show. Kids love this.
