Gore Mountain at Work on Several New Improvements

Snowmaking will be ready to go on "Sagamore," an enormous expert trail on Burnt Ridge Mountain that consumes over 1400' vertical. Burnt Ridge is Gore Mountain's newest area of development, featuring a high-speed quad and an excellent mix of more difficult and most difficult terrain. An all-new terrain park will open on a widened "Wild Air" under the Northwoods Gondola lift line. "Wild Air" is convenient for guests to access and the Northwoods Gondola ride will be more interesting, as skiers can view all of the latest efforts of Gore Mountain's Terrain Park Team. A huge expansion and complete renovation of the lodge at the North Creek Ski Bowl is currently underway. An 80% larger lodge will feature new restrooms, modernized foodservice, better seating, updated ticketing, and several other upgrades. Likewise, the Gore Mountain Base Lodge will feature updates to several services including retail, foodservice, and ticketing. Gore Mountain looks forward to adding a new winch-cat to its grooming fleet, with an emphasis on maintaining outstanding conditions during recent terrain expansion. Construction will begin on Gore Mountain's interconnect to the historic North Creek Ski Bowl, where Gore has been open for tubing since December 2002, and skiing/snowboarding since December 2007. This project will physically link Gore Mountain and the Ski Bowl, while creating a diverse pod of new terrain. The Ski Bowl trails will be a combination of easier, more difficult, and most difficult runs. Five trails including the existing Pipeline will comprise the development, serviced by a new triple chair. The interconnect is scheduled to open for the 2010/2011 season. "...the interconnect bridges the gap between the mountain and village. It brings us back to our roots and {North Creek's} heritage," commented Gore Mountain General Manager Mike Pratt in a March 13 article in the New York Times. Burnt Ridge is the connector area between the North Creek Ski Bowl and the rest of Gore Mountain's terrain. Guest should look for more convenient access to Burnt Ridge for the upcoming winter, including a new expansion of the "Cirque Glades" all the way to the base of the Burnt Ridge Quad. 2009/2010 season passes are on sale, with the best rates available through June 12.
