ALBANY, New York -- As the warmth of summer and early fall begins to "trail" off, Hannaford Supermarkets will help winter sports fans gear up for the return of the Northeast's longest-running consumer snow and travel expo with advance discount tickets sold exclusively at Hannaford store locations.

Advance discount tickets for the 47th annual Times Union Ski & Snowboard Expo will go on sale at Hannaford Supermarkets on Sunday, October 26 at stores throughout the Capital-Saratoga region, Hudson Valley, Glens Falls, Amsterdam, Gloversville, Kingston, and at selected Vermont locations including Bennington, Brattleboro and Rutland.

Tickets can be purchased at the customer service desks at the special adult rate of $6. Children's (ages 8 - 12) tickets will also be available at Hannaford for $4. (Tickets at the gate are $8 for adults; $4 for children; kids under 7 are free).

The Ski & Snowboard Expo offers winter sports enthusiasts an opportunity to get great early season deals on a wide array of ski and snowboard equipment, fashion and apparel, and discounts to dozens of mountains and winter vacation destinations from throughout the Northeast, Canada and western United States.

The Times Union Ski & Snowboard Expo presented by Alpin Haus will take place Friday, November 7 from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m.; Saturday, November 8 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.; and Sunday, November 9 from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Door prizes will be given away throughout the weekend. A coupon book, with hundreds of dollars in discounts and free lift tickets, will be distributed to each patron with paid admission.

Patrons can register for the Ultimate Snow Package at the Ski & Snowboard Expo at the Langan Audi booth. The winner will be announced at the Expo on Sunday at 5 p.m.

Alpin Haus will donate a portion of the proceeds from the expo to the adaptive ski program at the Double H Ranch. The ranch, located in Lake Luzerne, N.Y., offers free ski, snowboard and snowshoe lessons to children ages 6 - 21, who suffer from cancer, serious blood disorders and other chronic or life-threatening illnesses.
