BROMLEY MOUNTAIN, Vermont -- There's nothing better than having a good time for a good cause, and that's just what you'll have on Sunday, October 5, when Bromley Mountain hosts the kick-off event of Warm Up Vermont's 2008 Challenge. This special fuel-assistance fundraiser will feature, among other things, rides and games, a Team Trivia contest hosted by Governor Douglas with a Grand Prize of $500 and live music by the one and only Don't Leave Band.
On October 5 the Sun Mountain Adventure Park will be open its normal hours, from 10:30 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. From 3:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., all proceeds from Adventure Pass sales will be donated to the BROC-Community Action in Southwestern Vermont and the Windham County Heat Fund. Visitors to the Adventure Park during that time will pay a discounted rate of $15 per person or $30 for families (up to five family members). Buy your passes online at warmupvermont.com before October 5 and pay just $10 per person or $25 per family, plus a small ticketing fee.
From 5:15 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. special guest, Governor Jim Douglas, hosts the $20 per seat Team Trivia Extravaganza. Sponsored by Jamaica's Three Mountain Inn, Team Trivia will feature any number of five-person (max) teams vying for the Grand Prize of $500. Then, starting at 6:45 p.m., place your bids on some truly incredible Silent Auction items, buy your tickets for the Brown Bag Raffle and dance until the cows come home – or until 9:00 p.m., whichever comes first – to the original "more fun than is absolutely necessary" party band, the Don't Leave Band.
Help low-income Vermonters keep the heat on this winter by having a hot time at Bromley this fall. Bromley's Sun Mountain Adventure Park is on Route 11, six miles east of Manchester, Vermont. The park is open weekends through Sunday October 12, and on Monday, October 13. Visit 24/7 at www.bromley.com.
