Waterville Valley's 3rd Annual Bluegrass Festival is July 19 featuring Southern Rail

WATERVILLE VALLEY, New Hampshire -- Contemporary Bluegrass comes to the mountains during Waterville Valley's 3rd annual Bluegrass Festival on Saturday, July 19. Live bluegrass performances will run all day from 12-9 featuring Southern Rail, known for their "strong original material, heart-stopping harmonies and infectious good humor", according to Bluegrass News Network. Also performing will be Mondanock, a talented group of musicians from Southern New Hampshire with a song list of traditional, contemporary and original bluegrass tunes, the Crunchy Western Boys with their mandolin, bass, fiddle, guitar, dobro, banjo, harmonica, and vocals and Barry Scott & Second Wind showcasing traditional American acoustic music the bluegrass way. Additional Bluegrass Festival activities happening in Town Square will include a vocal harmony workshop, kids games, face painting, and unique traveling barnyard.

Admission to the Bluegrass Festival will be $10 in advance and $12 the day of the event for ages 18+,and for teens (ages 13-17) $6 in advance and $8 at the gate. Kids 12 & under are complimentary. The Festival is held outdoors, rain or shine, and lawn chairs & blankets are welcome. Advance tickets can be purchased by July 16 by calling 603-236-8175.

Waterville Valley Resort will also be offering their Summer Unlimited Package Bluegrass style for the weekend. The package includes two nights lodging, tickets to the Bluegrass Festival and the resort's Summer Unlimited activities which includes daily mountain biking, golf, tennis, boating, access to the White Mountain Athletic Club and more. Prices start at $54 per person, per night, based on quad occupancy. Summer vacations in Waterville Valley are always a hit with families because you can park the car and walk or take the complimentary trolley. Lodging guests will also receive $40 in gas for the ride home with a 4 night minimum stay.
