FRANCONIA NOTCH, New Hampshire -- Even though there is no snow on the ground, Cannon Mountain continues to be recognized by skiers and riders throughout the east.
Snow East magazine readers named Cannon Mountain among the highest rated ski areas in the East, scoring number one for favorite classic resort, number four for favorite eastern resort, number five for favorite scenic view, and number eight for favorite resort for grooming.
"Cannon's passionate season pass holders and loyalists have been keeping Cannon a closely guarded secret for years, and it’s no surprise that the rest of the world is now rediscovering us. We have been spending the last year telling the world about everything Cannon has to offer, and it’s working," stated John DeVivo, General Manager at Cannon Mountain and Franconia Notch State Park.
In October 2007, Ski Magazine readers rated Cannon within the top ten in five different categories. Then in November 2007, Skiing Magazine rated Cannon Mountain as one of the top seven places to ski with your kids. The honors are continuing through the summer, with Franconia Notch State Park being named one of the top ten state parks by America’s Best Online.
Cannon Mountain has 60 trails, 9 lifts, and terrain for all ability levels. Cannon has the longest vertical drop and the highest lift-served terrain in New Hampshire, and the state’s only aerial tramway. Cannon Mountain is based in Franconia Notch State Park, recently named America's Seventh Most Beautiful State Park by www.americasbestonline.com, and is located directly off I-93.
