Bromley's Cueman Passes One Torch and Picks Up Another

PERU, Vermont -- John Cueman, President of Bromley Mountain announced that he would be changing roles at Bromley and turning over the reins of President to Richard Wiseman formally General Manager of Camelback Ski Area in Pennsylvania. John will assume a new position as Vice President of Real Estate Planning for Bromley.
John started at Bromley in 1970 as an accounting supervisor and quickly moved up the ranks to Vice President, which was his position from 1975 through 1983. In 1984 John was named President of Bromley and has served in that role since. John was a Director of The Vermont Ski Areas Association and served as its treasurer from 1996 till 2007. John has always had a strong interest in community affairs. He served as a director and treasurer of the Manchester and the Mountains Regional Chamber of Commerce from 1984 to 2005.
When asked about his new role of VP of Real Estate Planning, Cueman said, "I will be stepping away from the important day to day operations and turning my focus to moving Bromley's Real Estate development forward. Bromley's Real Estate potential is critical to Bromley's future."
Bromley's new president, Richard Wiseman, brings with him a wealth of operational experience perfectly suited to his new post. Camelback is both a sizeable Pennsylvania ski area and a significant player in the summer market with its successful "Camelbeach" water and amusement park. John Cueman notes "The similarities between Camelback and Bromley are striking. I am delighted that Richard has accepted the position. He's a perfect fit, and I think he will do a great job for Bromley."
Wiseman began his career in the ski industry in the early 70's when he purchased Otis Ridge Ski Area in Western Massachusetts. No stranger to Vermont, Wiseman owned property in Newfane for several years and worked at Stowe for three years. After leaving Stowe, he traveled to California where he was the Vice President of Mountain Operations at Mountain High, in Wrightwood. "Rich then retuned to the east where he has been running Camelback since 1993," said Cueman. "He certainly has all the management experience required to meet the tasks at hand. It's a change for Bromley, but I believe it's a very positive one. I am sure that our employees, and the community, will be happy to have Richard on board."
