Bretton Woods Closes with Another Record Ski Season

BRETTON WOODS, New Hampshire -- Mount Washington Resort's Bretton Woods ski area closed for the 2007-08 season on Monday, April 21, 2008, offering free skiing for skiers and riders wearing patriotic attire. Alongside Patriot's Day, Bretton Woods has much to celebrate, adding another record ski season to its continued growth.

According to Chris Ellms, Bretton Woods Director of Ski Operations, "This marks the second record ski season in a row for Bretton Woods. Lift ticket sales were up 8% over the record established last season; and season pass sales for 2008-09 are off to a strong start, with the new Threedom Pass having been launched in early March."

The Threedom Pass, which includes skiing at three of New Hampshire's top family-oriented resorts, includes Bretton Woods for the first time ever, and is on sale at an introductory rate until May 31st, 2008. The Threedom Pass also includes skiing at Cranmore and Waterville Valley ski areas.

Bretton Woods was the first ski area in New Hampshire to open for the season, on November 10th, 2007. "We opened on time this year. Mother Nature gave us plentiful natural snowfall all season, and, of course, we complemented that with our snowmaking. So we actually operated 164 days this season, which is up 15% over last season --- that's about five and a half months of continuous operation."

Bretton Woods, part of Mount Washington Resort, also offered the trail-side Alpine Club membership to Mount Washington Resort homeowners for the first time this season. Over 50 families have become members, and enjoy the camaraderie that is part of the vision and master plan of Mount Washington Resort's community development.

Bretton Woods operates an Adventure Center in the Base Lodge during the summer months, offering scenic chair lift rides, mountain biking, disc golf, guided hikes and bike tours, among many other activities across the Resort. The Adventure Center is scheduled to open on June 21st, 2008.
