NORTH CREEK, New York -- Gore Mountain will host a full day of demos, clinics, and racing for telemark skiers on Sunday, February 4!
Inside Edge of Glens Falls will offer telemark skis for demo from K2 and Atomic, along with Garmont, Scarpa, and Crispi boots. Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS) of Albany will feature additional K2 skis with Black Diamond bindings, and Garmont boots.
90-minute group clinics will be available for beginners at 9:45am, and for intermediate and advanced telemark skiers at 1:45pm, at a special price of just $19. People can sign up for the clinics day-of at the Snow Sports Desk in the Base Lodge.
Telemark demo equipment is limited in quantity and guests are encouraged to arrive early for the best selection. Beginners in need of telemark equipment should visit EMS at Stuyvesant Plaza in Albany, (51 482-0088, Inside Edge on Glen Street in Glens Falls (51 793-5677, or The Mountaineer in Keene Valley, (51 576-2281, in advance to rent a package.
A NASTAR race for telemark skiers will be held on the Twin Fawns race course at 10am. Racers can register at the Information Desk 8:30am-10am, and the entry fee is $5 for two runs. Prizes include Bern helmets and MSR snowshoes from EMS.
The Gore Mountain Snow Sports School will offer two-day ski clinics February 3-4! These include "NASTAR Racing" to improve starting and speed techniques, and "For Women Only," a way for women of all ski abilities to build skill and confidence with instruction from Gore's best female instructors.
Guests can enjoy live entertainment from Tommy Roz in the Tannery Pub 2pm-6pm on both February 3 and 4.
