NORTH CREEK, New York -- Gore Mountain looks forward to reopening for daily operations Thursday, December 7. Terrain scheduled to open includes "Topridge" for experts, and a run combining "Foxlair" and "Wild Air" for intermediates, serviced by the Northwoods Gondola and the Topridge Triple. The weather forecast over the next several days provides consistently cold snowmaking weather and natural snow.
Friday, December 8 is the annual Sports Page Blowout Demo & $25 lift ticket day, featuring skis from Rossignol, Fischer, Salomon, Volkl, Atomic, Nordica, K2, and Dynastar. Skiers should be prepared to use their driver's license and a credit card as a deposit to demo the new skis. No coupons are required to participate in the special lift ticket rate.
The "Gore Mountain Gives" food drive will offer guests who donate a non-perishable food item $10 off lift tickets daily through Friday, December 15 (not available in combination with the 12/8 ticket special). December 15 also marks the last day to purchase 4-Pack Snow Samplers, four tickets valid any day of the season at either Gore or Whiteface Mountains for just $199.
To kick off the season with even more excitement, Gore Mountain will host a Rail Jam at 1pm on Sunday, December 17. Skiers and riders interested in participating should review important details on the events page of the Gore Mountain website.
Guests are encouraged to sign up early for Snow Sports School programs including Mountain Adventure Programs and Holiday Camps for children, and adult clinics. A new six-week backcountry program offers intermediate and better telemark skiers an introduction to various skills including orienteering, avalanche safety, nutrition, and equipment repair.
New improvements for the 06/07 ski and ride season include the debut of "Ruby Run," a beginner trail accessible from the Northwoods Gondola. The trail features picturesque views of Gore Mountain summit, the Adirondack High Peaks, and the Barton garnet mines.
