TANNERSVILLE, PA - With the unpredictable weather this winter season Camelback Mountain Resort was ready for anything over the past 24 hours, but as the snow began to fall last night it was evident that Mother Nature was finally smiling on this Pocono Mountain ski/snowboard resort. The Pocono Mountains lie in the heaviest snow-bands with a forecast of several inches. "There's more snow in the forecast throughout the day and already at 9 a.m. there's already 5 inches at the base of Camelback and more at the summit", says Brian Bossuyt, Director of Sales & Marketing at Camelback. Bossuyt continues, "our snowmakers have done a tremendous job over the past weeks, which readied us for the crowds of skiers & snowboarders last holiday weekend and with this dumping of snow, we can certainly say, winter has finally arrived.
"Snowmaking is our primary focus and commitment to our skiers & riders. We have made another investment in new energy-efficient snowguns again this year, which now allows us to cover the entire mountain in almost half of the time that it used to take, just a few years ago" said Bill Toye, Vice President of Mountain Operations at Camelback Mountain Resort. Toye continued, "Our team does an amazing job and it shows. We're the first resort to open 100% of its terrain in the New York metro area."
SnowEast Magazine Readers' Survey voted Camelback Mountain Resort the favorite resort in Pennsylvania for three consecutive years. There are 34 trails, ranging from beginners to double black diamonds with 100% of the trails open for night skiing. Camelback also debuts their Take Flight air bag today, January 21st. The massive 50' X 50' air bag tops out at 12 feet tall....just like stunt persons use in Hollywood films and freestyle athletes train for the Olympics and X-Games. Guests of all abilities can ski and board downhill, hit a jump and try any trick they want and land safely and softly on a cushion of air!
Always true to its name and mission, Camelback Mountain Resort, ensures action, adventure and excitement 365 days a year.
Pictures of the snowfall and video b-roll segments are available of today's winter snow storm.
