Winter Continues with Eight Inches of New Snow at Sugarloaf

CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine -- An historic winter continued at Maine's largest ski resort today, after eight inches of new snow blanketed Sugarloaf last night. The new snow brings the season's total snowfall at the resort to 224 inches.
Sugarloaf is currently the only ski resort still open in the east, and the fresh snow ensures excellent conditions into the month of May.

JAY, Vermont -- The only Vermont resort to announce skiing and riding into May, Jay Peak, today, makes it official; there will be lift serviced skiing and riding in Vermont into May.

WEST DOVER, Vermont -- Mount Snow announced today that it will install more than 150 additional fan guns this summer, investing over $5 million in energy-efficient snowmaking. Sugarloaf Purchases 500 Gallons of Biodiesel Made from Area Waste Oil

CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine -- Expanding a program launched last year, Sugarloaf, Maine's premier ski and golf resort, has purchased 500 gallons of biodiesel from Bean's Commercial Grease in Vassalboro, and plans to run all of its off-road diesel engines on a biodiesel blend.
The 500 gallons of biodiesel were made from waste vegetable oil from Sugarloaf's many restaurants, and will be mixed with 10,000 gallons of standard off-road diesel, creating a B5 mix that will be used in the resort's...

Loon Mountain Posts a Record Season and Looks Forward to Summer
